History of The Station Hotel and local events

The Station Hotel is a much altered large late Victorian establishment, built for Mellersh & Neale's Brewery, Reigate, to serve the community growing up around Nutfield railway station. It is just about possible to work out where the old bars used to be within, what is now, a big open plan bar. At one end is a big screen TV for Sky Sports and at the other end a 42" flat screen which can offer alternative viewing. Darts and Pool are also available. An attractive tiled side awning runs along  the front of the building, and this has an overhead heater to provide some comfort to smokers. There is also a very large pleasant garden to the side which is always popular in the summer months. A large children's play area is to be found here. There are good facilities for the disabled.

There is excellent live music every Saturday night and an open mike night on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month.  From time to time there is additional music on other Sundays or Friday evenings. We have even had a guest appearance by Gary Moore. We have also been privileged to have hosted  Derek Paravicini & the Jazz Katz several times.

Each Easter Monday the Nutfield Village Road Race starts and finishes here. There has been a B B Q in the garden in recent years. We all hope it will be a sunny day. except for the runners..perhaps!!  A very busy day!

On Boxing Day the East Surrey Morris Men visit and again this is a busy day.  Often the Morris Men will visit on May Bank holiday as well.
